NASDA asks USDA to rescind HPA rule

Texas Commissioner of Agriculture Sid Miller recently introduced a resolution at the National State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) Winter Policy Meeting asking USDA to rescind the Biden Administration’s rule to amend the HPA.

During the 2025 SHOW Judges’ a discussion was had regarding if owners could show horses in front of a judge that they had horses in training with. Under the 2024 rules, an owner could show a horse that they owned in front of a judge that was also a professional trainer that the same owner also had horses in training. Read More
USDA postpones remaining portion of HPA Rule
The United States Department of Agriculture postponed the effective date of the Horse Protection Rule until February 1, 2026. This postponement means that the Horse Industry Organizations will remain in effect for at least the 2025 show season. Read More
