Comer Subpoenas Key USDA Official Over Arbitrary Enforcement of Horse Protection Act

 House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) today issued a subpoena to a key official at U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to further investigate the USDA’s arbitrary enforcement of the Horse Protection Act (HPA) and the final rule titled Horse Protection Amendments.

  • American Horse Council formally requests USDA delay new HPA Regulations

    The following is a news release from American Horse Council regarding the new Horse Protection Act rule set to go into effect February 1, 2025. In addition to AHC’s request the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration and two other plaintiffs have challenged the rule in federal court in Amarillo, Tx. A decision in that lawsuit should come prior to the February 1st effective date which could render the rule invalid and all or some of its provisions not valid and not implemented. Read More

    Donald S. Dunivan, age 87, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025. He was born on June 18, 1937, to the late Clayton Wilson & Alene Jones Dunivan.
