6/11/96-11/21/24

It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce WGC Whata Wolf was laid to rest at Whispering Wind Stables, Pikeville TN, on November 21, 2024.  Sired by Got Rox Wolf Man, Whata Wolf was bred, foaled, and raised by Sis and Grady Osborne at their Cornersville TN farm. He was shown sparingly but quite successfully as a halter colt, acquiring top ribbons in halter classes before being sent to Whispering Wind in the spring of 1998 to be trained and shown under saddle. Impressed with the talent of the strikingly handsome colt, Tammy and Ronnie Sapp made the easy decision to add him to their personal show string.

The talented youngster won several WC and WGC's as a two and three year old. At age 4, he won the 2000 SSHBEA Trail Pleasure World Grand Championship, and the decision was made to retire him to the breeding shed. It was here where he really excelled and made a huge impact in the spotted saddle horse world.

His production record firmly establishes him, without a doubt, as one of the greatest spotted sires in Spotted Saddle Horse Breeders’ & Exhibitors’ Association history, with progeny of nearly 150 foals, 131 of which were double-registered with the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ & Exhibitors’ Association. Numerous offspring have earmed WCs and WGCs, with several going on to produce WCs and WGCs, carrying on the legacy of their sire. A few of those include Whata Little Lady, Pride of Wolf, He Owns the Night, Lone Wolf McQuade, She's A Dixie Wolf, Grady Wolf, She's a Jazzy Wolf, Colors of Wolf, Teen Wolf, An Almighty Wolf, The Ultimate Wolf, Whata Wolf Again, Beowolf and Alex Cayhill D.A.

“Whata Wolf was one of the special ones; he was loved and cherished by our entire family. We all feel his absence in the barn.”
