Tennessee’s preeminent extensive care equine facility announced Thursday that Shelbyville will be their fifth location.
Tennessee Equine Hospital of Thompson’s Station is partnering with Wilhelm Equine Services to form “Tennessee Equine Hospital East, LLC” at 2769 Hwy 231 North.
Dr. Richard Wilhelm’s facility has served the community for 24 years. In a letter to his clients and friends, he wrote that TEH has a “wealth of resources,” and explained that the goal is to grow “TEH East into a multidoctor practice and expand emergency and hospitalization services” at the Shelbyville location.
Tamra Fillmore, site manager at the facility, provided Scoop with a tour and said Tennessee Equine Hospital crews will begin renovations in January to expand veterinarian care and services.
TEH’s specialty team is one of the largest in the southeast. Their Facebook page posted the announcement: “TEH East completes Tennessee Equine's extensive care network, with the main facility in Thompson’s Station acting as a referral center for four satellite hospitals located in Gallatin and Eads, Tennessee; Harvest, Alabama; and now Shelbyville.”
