VERONA, Miss. – The Gum Tree Classic was held once again in Verona, Miss., with Benny Johnson traveling from Bluemont, Va., to mark the cards for the 33-class event. Edgar Abernathy presented the American flag aboard Mr. Pushlite for Lizzie Umberger of Olive Branch, Miss.
Walking their way to the top honor in the Walking Horse Stake were Jimmy McConnell and Sun-Dust With Attitude for proud owner Mary Medina of Skillman, N.J. Second place was awarded to Armed Dangerous Premier and Brock Tillman, while Edgar Abernathy and Cadillac’s Bum rounded out the top three places.
The blue ribbon tally had Formac Stables carrying home seven top honors, while Southern Serenity Ranch earned four blue ribbons. White Oak Farm and Abernathy Stables each earned dual blues and several other barns took home single blues.
