INDIO, Cailf. – The Desert Classic Horse Show was held on March 29-30, 2008, at the Hits Horse Park in Indio, Calif. Billy Young was in charge of judging the two-day event.
Russ Thompson Stables claimed the most blue ribbons at the show with 27, including the Walking Horse Open Stake class title with It’s Billy The Kid and Greg Bryant. It’s Billy The Kid is now under the new ownership of Roger and Rebecca Emerick of Hillsborough, Calif., and Wartrace, Tenn. Golden West Farms claimed 22 blue ribbons while Pollack’s Silver Spur Ranch went home with 11. Of those 11 blues that were won by Pollack’s Silver Spur Ranch, six were won by multi-World Grand Champion Trail Pleasure Horse Push N For Pleasure.
Scott and Adrianne Benham’s son, Luke, celebrated his 16th birthday while in Indio. Luke also claimed two blues on his mare Noon’s Megan in the Show Pleasure division.
