Kirk England Haynes, 93, died May 7, 2004 at Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
Haynes was a resident of Jonestown, MS who had a lifetime love affair with Tennessee Walking Horses and was a member of the Mississippi Walking Horse Hall of Fame.
He graduated from Ole Miss, where he earned 15 varsity letters and was awarded the University’s best all around athlete award for two years in a row. Before beginning a career in farming, he played professional baseball in the Chicago White Sox organization and also played professionally for teams in Helena, Ark., and Memphis, Tenn.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Douglas Patterson Haynes of Jonestown and a host of nieces and nephews.
