Obituary – Maria E. Redmond

Maria E. Redmond, 58, of Bethel, Ohio, passed away on August 26, 2021. Maria was born November 27, 1962, in Campbell County, KY to the late John and Beulah Ahlbrand.
Maria was the loving wife of John Redmond. Beloved mother of Chris Redmond (Tristie), Tyler Blair (Tracy), Alan Redmond (Meghan), and Dustin Amann (Michelle). Grandmother of 13 grandchildren. Sister of Jimmy Ahlbrand, Johnny Ahlbrand, and the late Billy Ahlbrand. Best friend and sister to Laura Amann.
Maria was passionate about her love of horses and took leadership roles in some of the associations she was a member of (NWHA) National Walking Horse Association, (WHOA) Walking Horse Owners Association, (RHBAA) Racking Horse Breeders Association of America, and (TWHBEA) Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association. She was also a decorated competitor winning multiple titles. Maria dedicated herself to many local community sports programs serving as a team mom for multiple sports her sons were involved in. She served as the Glen Este Athletic Booster President for many years. Above all, her fierce love for her children and grandchildren was what she cared about most.
A public memorial gathering will be held at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home 177 W. Main St. (St. Rt. 125) Amelia, OH, on Sunday, September 5, 2021, from 1:00 PM until the time of memorial service starting at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maria Redmond International Racking Horse Championship Fund or Charlie Howard Scholarship Youth College Scholarships c/o WHOA, PO Box 4007 Murfreesboro, TN 37129.

The TWHBEA Election Committee met yesterday and certified the results of this year’s election. The ballots were counted by Winnett Associates PLLC. 10 States/Regions elected directors to full three-year terms, with Michigan, Virginia, and Region 6 also electing directors for partial terms.
