The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration with Kimberly Lewis and Tom Gould filed a motion on November 4th opposing HSUS’ attempt at intervention in the rulemaking case in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Previously the HSUS had filed a motion with the court asking to be allowed to intervene in the case.
Also on November 4th, the United States Department of Agriculture also filed a brief in opposition to the HSUS attempt at intervention. Both briefs state that HSUS fails to show that it meets the requirements for either intervention as of right under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 24(a) or permissive intervention under Rule 24(b).
The HSUS has 14 days (November 18th) to file a reply brief with the court to TWHNC and USDA’s opposition.
