TWHBEA is excited to announce that cash incentives have been added for youth exhibitors at the Summer Sizzler Halter Show. Thanks to a generous donation by Anne Piet, the winner of the Youth Showmanship Class will receive $500, winners of the Lead Line 6 & Under, Youth Weanling and Youth Yearling classes will each receive $250, and the highest placing youth exhibitor in the Amateur/Youth Model class will receive $250. “We’re extremely grateful for Anne’s support of this show, and more importantly her support of our youth. Halter classes are a great gateway for youth to participate in our industry,” said Mark Farrar, TWHBEA CEO.
The TWHBEA Summer Sizzler Halter Show is scheduled for Sunday, July 30, 2023 on the former football field behind the old high school in Shelbyville. The school is located at 400 Elm Street and is now called King’s Old Central High School and the field served as the site of the first Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in 1939. The first eight World Grand Champions were crowned on the property before the Celebration moved to his present home in 1948.
